The Together for Families directorate supports children and families within Cornwall. The Business Support Team provides reception cover for the Family Hubs and assists the Family Help Service.
Role Overview
Fixed‑term full‑time (37 hours) Business Support Assistant based at the North Cornwall Family Hubs (Bude, Launceston, Bodmin, Bude, Camelford, Wadebridge). Contract until December 2026, possible extension.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as the first point of contact for visitors, managing a busy reception desk.
* Handle phone calls and email correspondence, ensuring timely communications with service users and partner agencies.
* Maintain accurate records and organised filing systems, meeting tight deadlines.
* Support room bookings and calendar management.
* Provide administrative support to operational colleagues within the Family Help Service.
Qualifications & Experience
* 4 GCSEs (A‑C) or equivalent, including English and Maths.
* Excellent keyboard skills and significant experience of general office procedures and reception tasks.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to liaise with all professional levels.
* Professional discretion, diplomacy, and flexibility in a busy team environment.
* Full UK driver’s licence and access to a vehicle (required for covering multiple hubs).
* Positive criminal record disclosure (enhanced check required).
* Statutory English language requirement for public sector workers.
