Overview As a Motor Personal Injury Claims Negotiator, you will be responsible for managing an allocated portfolio of Motor Injury claims (including injury, credit hire and damage components) coming out of our Hazardous Goods Vehicles binder. You will handle claims from first notification through to settlement, ensuring timely, fair, and cost-effective resolution in line with regulatory and company standards whilst ensuring the delivery of service excellence. How you'll make an impact To manage a caseload of Injury claims, typically up to £100,000 in value but with the potential for the value to exceed £100,000, from FNOL to final settlement up to the level authorised by the Claims Director in accordance with the processes and procedures contained within the “Claims Manual” document. Achieve the most economical settlement at the earliest practical time by proactively driving every claim in association with the diary system and in adherence with the Pen Telephone Ethos. Investigate, assess, and negotiate claims, ensuring accurate liability decisions and reserving strategies including reserving in accordance with the Company reserving policy of “Ultimate Claims Spend” Managing Client and Broker relationships which are key to delivering against our niche offering. Ensure reserves are frequently reviewed and amended as necessary and that all processing and management information systems are kept up to date. Ensure that a customer centric approach is taken when handling claims. Prepare and maintain detailed file notes, referral documents, and case strategies for internal review and audit. Identify potential fraud indicators and escalate concerns appropriately. Contribute to team performance by meeting service level agreements (SLAs), including response times and telephony standards. Support continuous improvement by identifying operational inefficiencies and suggesting enhancements to claims processes. Identify and pursue all avenues of recovery. Ensure that appropriate information is provided to internal colleagues in accordance with documented procedures. Appoint panel service providers where necessary and contribute to the monitoring of their performance to ensure delivery of the highest possible standards. Keep senior staff informed on individual large losses and claims trends identified.
