Job Title: Production Engineer
Location: Hythe, Kent (you will need to drive and have your own transport)
Salary: up to £45,000
Hours: Monday to Thursday 7am - 5pm (potential to change to Monday to Friday 8-4 from the New Year)

Role Summary
You will be responsible for designing and optimising manufacturing processes, ensuring efficiency, quality and safety in our clients production operations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and support the introduction of new products.

Key responsibilities
* Design and develop manufacturing processes including production layouts and workflows.
* Select appropriate equipment and tooling for jobs.
* Ensure that products meet defined quality standards.
* Implement quality control measures throughout the production process.
* Oversee the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment and machinery.
* Ensure that all production activities adhere to relevant safety regulations and protocols.
* Work closely with other engineers, production staff and stakeholders to ensure smooth production operations.
* Provide training and technical support to personnel on new processes and equipment.
* Identify opportunities to reduce production costs and improve profitability.
* Conduct root cause analysis and corrective actions for process or quality deviations.
* Develop technical documentation, including work instructions and process guidelines.
* Monitor and report on key performance indicators to track progress and drive continuous improvement.
Experience and skills
* Proficient in relevant software and tools such as CAD/CAM, simulation software and data analysis tools.
* Proven experience in process design, troubleshooting and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
* Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment and materials.
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
