Nordex has an exciting opportunity for the role of Safety & Environment Intern

Contract Type: 12-month Internship starting in Summer 2026

Location: Didsbury, Manchester

Hours: 37 hours per week

How can you make a difference?

The Safety & Environment Intern will work with the HSE team here at Nordex UK & Ireland to support with the delivery of safety and environmental initiatives across the Nordex UK & Ireland region.

This is a 12-month internship for a placement student who is looking to gain hands on experience in a busy environment to develop their skills in Safety, compliance and sustainability or a recent graduate


What will you be doing?

* Supporting the Health, Safety and Environment team with hazard identification and audits
* Supporting risk assessments, safety briefings and toolbox talks
* Contributing to incident investigations by gathering information and documenting findings
* Supporting compliance activities related to environmental legislation and company policies
* Help the team with environmental awareness campaigns
* Updating HSE dashboards, monthly reports and trackers
* Conducting research on best practice, emerging regulations and sustainability initiatives
* Helping to promote a positive safety culture
* Supporting business improvement projects
* Liaising with internal and external stakeholders
* Supporting with ad-hoc tasks to support the wider Nordex team


What are we looking for?

You will be currently studying a Environmental, Health & Safety or Sustainability degree and be looking to undertake a placement as part of your degree or you will be recently graduated with a relevant degree and be looking for work experience in this area.


Other skills and behaviours required for this role include:

* Strong organisational and attention to detail skills
* Strong interest in Safety, Health and Environmental management
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* AI knowledge and how it can be used to improve efficiency
* High level of competency in using MS Office packages
* Ability to prioritise tasks and work to tight deadlines
* Positive attitude with a willingness to learn
