The Role
Applications are invited for a role within the A&C function of the Lanarkshire Weight Management Service. The service is designed to achieve the requirements of the national Diet & Healthy Weight Delivery Plan and Type 2 Diabetes Framework. The A&C team support the central referral point for all primary & secondary care weight management referrals in Lanarkshire, including child & young person and adult weight management referrals as well as Pre-Diabetes & Type 2 Diabetes weight management referrals, liaising with staff from other departments and patients as necessary.
This post holder will be involved in clinical patient management systems, working closely with the clinicians within the weight management service, as well as supporting community participant management processes alongside the weight management support staff & partner staff who deliver a range of community programmes as part of the service. This role will also be involved in collecting a core dataset for weight management patients, which is reported back to the Scottish Government. The post will report to the Assistant Operations Support Manager within the service and will be based in Beckford Street.

What we'll need you to bring
1. Minimum of 2 years work experience in an Administrative and Clerical role.
2. Educated to Higher Grade level.
3. Ability to supervise staff.
4. Well developed interpersonal skills in customer care.
5. Excellent communication skills.
6. Good organisational and planning skills.
7. Understanding of a range of procedures and processes.
8. Ability to prioritise work and work on own initiative whilst under pressure.
9. Proficient I.T. skills which include a working knowledge of Microsoft packages.
10. Ensuring confidentiality, diplomacy and discretion are maintained at all times.
It would be great if you also have
11. Some knowledge of medical terminology would be advantageous
12. Copy and Audio type experience
13. Having working knowledge of Trak care and Winscribe and Clinical Portal
Contract type
Fixed Term or Secondment for the duration of 22 months.
Part Time
18.5 hours
Please note this is a part time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.
Please note this is a fixed term post for the duration of 22 months. Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment. The employee MUST already have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post.
