About the Role: We are seeking an accomplished Director of Finance — or an experienced Financial Controller ready to step into a broader leadership remit — to oversee the full finance function, drive financial governance, and partner with the Executive Team to support the Club’s strategic and operational objectives. As the senior finance leader for the Club, you will be accountable for the integrity, transparency, and effectiveness of all financial operations, including: End‑to‑end financial management and reporting Budgeting, forecasting, and business performance analysis Procurement, purchasing governance, and stock control oversight (P2P) Treasury and cashflow management including banking mandates and payment controls Compliance with UK statutory obligations, HMRC requirements, and applicable accounting standards (USALI / IFRS / UK GAAP) Payroll oversight, employment cost governance, and statutory submissions Finance systems leadership, including adoption, optimisation and implementation with Group CFO / IT You will lead a multidisciplinary finance team (procurement, payroll & benefits, AP, income audit, cost control, and finance administration), ensuring a high‑performance culture anchored in professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership Provide insightful financial analysis to support decision‑making and long‑term planning. Advise the COO and Executive Team on risks, opportunities, and value‑creation strategies. Contribute to corporate strategy and attend executive‑level meetings as required. Financial Governance & Compliance Establish and maintain robust governance frameworks and internal controls. Lead statutory accounts preparation, tax compliance, and external audit coordination. Escalate material risks appropriately and ensure full adherence to regulatory obligations. Reporting & Performance Management Deliver timely, accurate management accounts and financial reporting packs. Monitor KPIs across Rooms, F&B, Membership, and overheads. Manage capex and OS&E records, ensuring proper documentation and controls. Procurement, Cost Management & Stock Control Oversee purchasing policies, approval limits, and supplier due diligence. Ensure transparent, commercially effective procurement processes. Strengthen stock, waste, and loss controls. Team Leadership Lead, develop, and mentor the finance and procurement teams. Set clear objectives and manage performance in line with company and People & Culture standards. Promote a culture of respect, flexibility, accountability, and integrity. About You: We are looking for a senior finance professional who brings: Significant experience in a similar capacity in hospitality, private clubs, luxury lifestyle, or related sectors. A recognised accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA). Proven success in financial leadership, governance, and business partnering. Strong command of financial controls, systems, and statutory compliance. Demonstrated ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders, and manage complexity with sound judgement. A hands‑on, solutions‑focused approach with the confidence to operate at both strategic and operational levels. This role may be appointed at Director of Finance level, or Financial Controller for an outstanding candidate ready to take the next step.
