SC Cleared Google Cloud Engineer
6 Month Contract | Inside IR35 | £550-£700/day | Remote (Occasional London/Bristol)
We're supporting a leading digital transformation consultancy delivering secure, cloud-native platforms into government and regulated environments. They are looking for an experienced SC Cleared GCP Engineer with strong GKE expertise to join a high-performing engineering team.
Key Requirements:
* Active SC Clearance (essential)
* Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
* Deep expertise in GKE / Kubernetes in production environments
* Proven background delivering secure, scalable, cloud-native solutions
* Experience working in government or highly regulated environments
* Strong skills in Terraform / Infrastructure as Code
* Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, etc.)
* Good understanding of cloud security, IAM, networking, and Zero-Trust principles
Key Responsibilities:
* Design, build and optimise GCP-based platforms, with a focus on GKE
* Deploy and manage containerised applications in secure, multi-environment setups
* Implement Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) for repeatable, scalable deployments
* Embed security best practices and compliance controls across the platform
* Support CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps processes
* Collaborate with engineering, platform, and security teams in agile delivery environments
Nice to Have:
* Experience with multi-cloud (AWS/Azure) environments
* Exposure to service mesh / CNI (e.g. Cilium)
* Knowledge of monitoring & observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)
* Experience with identity & secrets management (Keycloak, Vault)
