As part of the Flexible Pipe Systems Offshore team based in Newcastle UK, you will be joining an established business and team with expertise in pipe design, procurement and manufacturing. This unique combination allows our customers to increase production and asset integrity whilst reducing the overall costs associated with a pipeline system.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Quality Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives within our organization to enhance product quality and operational efficiency. The Quality Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify improvement opportunities, develop, and implement quality control measures, and monitor ongoing performance. The successful candidate will have a strong background in quality management, process improvement, and data analysis.
As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for:
* Identifying and analysing process improvement opportunities to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
* Develop and implement quality control measures, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and quality checklists.
* Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) to address quality issues.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute process improvement projects.
* Utilize statistical analysis and data-driven methodologies to identify trends and patterns and implement solutions to improve quality metrics.
* Monitor and report on key quality performance indicators (KPIs) to management and stakeholders.
* Lead and facilitate continuous improvement workshops and training sessions.
* Provide guidance and support to production teams to ensure compliance with quality standards and best practices.
* Stay up to date with industry best practices and emerging trends in quality management and continuous improvement.
Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role you will:
* Have a bachelor’s degree in a STEM Subject, Quality Management, or a related field.
* Have some experience in quality management and process improvement, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
* Have some knowledge of quality control methodologies, including statistical process control (SPC), root cause analysis, and CAPA.
* Have proficiency in data analysis and statistical tools, such as Excel & Minitab.
* Have excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Have great communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
* Be detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Have knowledge of relevant quality management standards, such as ISO 9001 and API Q1.
* Lean Bronze, Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is preferred.
* Be familiar with continuous improvement methodologies, such as TPS, Lean or Six Sigma.
