Overview
A Vacancy at Northumbria Healthcare - NHCT Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced, dynamic and inspirational senior midwife to lead the Pregnancy Assessment Unit at Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital (NSECH). The unit is open 24/7, assessing and treating pregnant women who attend hospital with pregnancy related complications or concerns.

Responsibilities
* Provide leadership to the multidisciplinary team and daily management of the Pregnancy Assessment Unit.
* Plan and implement flexible staff rosters and manage annual leave, maintaining adequate staff levels and skill mix.
* Undertake environmental assessments and monitor staff wellbeing at work.
* Encourage and support innovative practice and multidisciplinary teamwork.
* Lead the development of clinical audit and guidelines; lead in incident investigation and care reviews.
* Support staff development and manage budgetary considerations.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Demonstrate the requisite level of competencies at band 7 and provide evidence of ongoing professional development. Further education is encouraged, including support to attend relevant courses to meet service needs.
* Exercise accountability as set out in the NMC Midwives Rules and Standards and role model compassionate, inclusive leadership to shape a collective leadership culture within the trust.
* To take responsibility for the efficient and safe management of outpatient and BSOTS triage maternity care; to be responsible for midwifery care standards and to maintain high clinical standards; to provide senior midwife unit management.
