Purpose of Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Contracts Manager to lead operational delivery across estates management. This role is pivotal in ensuring high standards of service, safety, and compliance while driving innovation and cost-efficiency. You’ll be responsible for leading a team, managing contracts, and ensuring all works meet legislative, budgetary, and quality expectations.
Job Description
As Contracts Manager, you will provide clear leadership and direction to your team, ensuring all planned and reactive maintenance activities are delivered to the highest standards. You will oversee operational processes, manage risk, and promote continuous improvement across the contract. This role requires strategic thinking, strong stakeholder engagement, and a commitment to health, safety, and environmental excellence.
Responsibilities
• Lead estate management operations, with expertise in gas and electrical systems.
• Manage personnel issues and conduct performance reviews (PDRs).
• Deliver cost-saving initiatives and innovative solutions to maximise gainshare.
• Ensure compliance with VINCI and DfE health and safety standards.
• Communicate contract objectives and ensure team accountability.
• Lead site setup and ensure robust procedures and inductions are in place.
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety shares, and staff development activities.
• Monitor statutory compliance, preventative maintenance, and reactive works.
• Produce timely client reports and internal summaries.
• Engage with designers and subcontractors to resolve operational challenges.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and implement new technologies.
Essential Qualifications/Skills
• Proven experience in estates or facilities management.
• Strong leadership and team development skills.
• In-depth knowledge of gas and electrical systems.
• Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental legislation.
• Ability to manage budgets and deliver cost efficiencies.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
• Competence in reporting, compliance tracking, and contract management
