The UK’s largest provider of affordable housing, committed to building homes and communities that people can be proud of is seeking astrategic and commercially astute Head of Development Finance and Analysis to join the senior management team and lead financial oversight for major development opportunities across the North region.
This is an initial 9-month contract role based in Manchester with hybrid working available, the role has a daily rate up to £500 per day via an Umbrella company (inside IR35).
About the Role
As a key member of both the Development Finance and Analysis and North Development senior management teams, you will:
 * Provide strategic financial leadership across high-profile schemes in Manchester, Leeds, York, and surrounding areas.
 * Act as the primary finance contact for the North region, working closely with the Regional Managing Director and other senior stakeholders.
 * Lead financial strategy and transaction support for major investments including joint ventures, regeneration schemes, and strategic partnerships.
 * Deliver high-level financial modelling, risk analysis, and scenario planning to support investment decisions.
 * Represent Clarion at project boards and external meetings, ensuring financial integrity and alignment with group strategy.
 * Manage and mentor a Senior Development Finance Analyst, fostering a high-performance culture.
Key Responsibilities
 * End-to-end financial management of complex development transactions.
 * Liaise with internal teams (Treasury, Tax, Legal, Governance) and external advisors to structure deals effectively.
 * Provide financial insight and guidance to Group Boards and the Investment Committee.
 * Oversee financial appraisal tools and ensure they support business growth.
 * Monitor and manage financial, tax, and control risks across the project portfolio.
 * Evaluate existing investments and advise on renegotiation, exit strategies, and strategic fit.
About You
We’re looking for a dynamic leader with:
 * CCAB or equivalent accounting qualification.
 * Proven experience in property investment finance, ideally within housing or regeneration.
 * Strong track record in structuring and negotiating complex, multi-party transactions.
 * Deep understanding of financial modelling for multi-tenure housing schemes.
 * Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
 * Ability to influence senior decision-makers and drive strategic outcomes.
