A well-established and expanding accountancy practice based in Worcestershire is looking to appoint an ambitious and commercially driven Business Growth Manager to play a key role in its next stage of development. With a respected presence across the region and a track record of delivering strategic, client-centric advice, the firm is strengthening its business development function to drive new client acquisition and increase revenue growth.
This is a pivotal role working closely with senior leadership and marketing support to convert opportunity into measurable growth. The successful candidate will take ownership of developing and progressing new business opportunities generated through marketing activity, networking, referrals and proactive outreach, while also identifying opportunities to deepen and expand relationships within the existing client base.
Role Responsibilities
The Business Development Manager will manage the full lifecycle of the sales process, from initial engagement through to proposal development and securing instructions. The role requires a strategic and structured approach to pipeline development, relationship management, and revenue generation, ensuring activity aligns with the firm's broader commercial objectives.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Converting inbound enquiries and qualified marketing leads into new client engagements through structured follow-up, proposal preparation and negotiation.
* Generating new opportunities through networking, referral partnerships, strategic outreach and re-engagement of lapsed clients.
* Managing and maintaining an accurate sales pipeline, tracking opportunities from initial contact through to conversion.
* Collaborating with internal teams to identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities within existing accounts.
The position also requires close collaboration with client service teams to ensure alignment with capacity, expertise and strategic priorities, as well as consistent and accurate use of CRM systems to monitor performance and report on key metrics.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in business development within a professional services or B2B environment, with a strong track record of converting leads into long-term client relationships. You will demonstrate excellent commercial awareness, strong communication and presentation skills, and confidence engaging with senior decision-makers.
A proactive, resilient and self-motivated approach is essential, alongside experience in networking and building referral relationships. Strong organisational skills, pipeline management capability, and proficiency in CRM systems and reporting tools are also required.
