Role Outline

We are seeking Occupational Health Technicians to join our expanding peripatetic team. In this role, you will travel across the UK, driving a Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) to client sites to deliver health surveillance services. This is a varied and rewarding role that supports employee health and wellbeing across a range of industries.

This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic and reliable individual to expand their skills in a supportive environment, including a 3-week Training and Induction Programme with ongoing mentoring from the team.

What You’ll Be Doing

* Conduct health surveillance screenings, including audiometry, lung function testing, and baseline measurements (height, weight, blood pressure, urinalysis).
* Accurately record all medical information in occupational health records and ensure it is passed to the relevant clinical staff.
* Maintain and ensure all equipment is clean, serviceable, and fit for purpose.
* Support health promotion activities and other additional tasks as required.
* Assist the wider occupational health team by gathering and recording accurate information to support clinical decision-making.
* Provide biometric data through screening procedures to enable nursing and physician staff to make informed clinical decisions regarding patient management.

What We Are Looking For

We are seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated professional with exceptional time management, and outstanding written and verbal communication abilities. A solid understanding of GDPR is essential, along with the capability to effectively deliver health promotion and health surveillance services.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organisational skills, the ability to prioritise tasks, and the confidence to meet tight deadlines using their own initiative. You should be approachable, possess excellent interpersonal skills, and be adept at building and maintaining positive working relationships.

This role is particularly suited to individuals with experience as a Healthcare Support Worker, Emergency Care Assistant, Ambulance Technician, Ambulance Assistant, Emergency Care Technician, or Army Medic. It also presents an opportunity for graduates with a degree in Sports Science seeking their first role in a healthcare setting, provided you have experience performing baseline measurements.

Qualifications & Requirements

* A valid manual UK driving licence is a mandatory requirement. Applicants must have held a driving licence for a minimum of 12 months and be at least 21 years of age to be eligible.
* Candidates will be required to provide a licence share code, which can be generated through the official government website.

During the initial weeks of employment, the successful candidate may use their personal vehicle or a company-provided hire car for transportation until a new company van can be delivered.

Travel & Overnight Stays

You must be able to park the MMU at or near your home address overnight and be comfortable with travel, including regular overnight stays. You may be away from home for around 3 out of 4 weeks each month, with weekends at home when possible.

Support for Work–Life Balance

* Diary visibility 6 weeks in advance
* Subsistence for each night away from home, reimbursed within a week of claim
* Access to a Premier Inn account for easy booking

Location

Based in the Oxford area with regional travel and occasional nationwide travel.

Salary

Salary is between £25,000 and £27,000 per annum depending on experience and qualifications. Offering a competitive hourly rate.
