This is a rare opportunity to join our small, stable team at Arundel House in Barnstaple. We are registered with CQC to provide support to fifteen people with a range of mental health support needs. Some people also need support with their personal care.
We are looking for someone to join us full time or part time. It is essential that you are flexible in your availability to work (rotas will be provided four to six weeks in advance). The role includes spending time with and listening to our residents, supporting with personal care / prompting personal care, administering medication (following training), supporting with meals including clearing away and cleaning the dining room after use (we have a chef who prepares the main daily meal), supporting our cleaner and residents together with weekly deep cleaning of residents rooms, completing daily jobs according to our schedule (including health & safety checks and cleaning tasks), supporting with indoor activities such as baking, board games, crafts, movie afternoon, room tidying etc and accompanying individuals to their chosen activities outside of the home and to appointments.
Full time colleagues work 4 shifts per week. These are a combination of day shifts (9am - 6pm) and evening / sleep shifts (6pm - 9am). A 9am - 3pm shift may also be available. We believe this provides a good work life balance with shifts times which you are pretty unlikely to find elsewhere in social care...
We pay £12.26 per hour for day shifts and a fixed shift rate of up to £143.00 for the evening / sleep shift. You must be available to work alternate weekends.
We employ chefs and a housekeeper so that our support workers can spend as much time as possible with our residents. You will be provided with a free lunch (for day shifts of 6 hours or more) and paid breaks. You will be required to complete a range of online training modules as well as some face to face courses. We have access to fully funded apprenticeships in Health and Social Care if you are looking to enhance your skills and knowledge (usually at L2 or L3). If you already hold a qualification in Health and Social Care, that is a real bonus
We anticipate a large number of applicants for this post so will only be running our advert for one week. If you believe you could make a positive addition to our team, please apply now. Do not miss this opportunity
