The Company:
A family-owned dairy farm in Cambridgeshire is seeking a Herdsperson to work alongside current Herdsperson and support the Farm Owners with the day-to-day care and management of a modern robotic milking unit. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with experience in milking and livestock care who is looking to further develop their career in a supportive and structured environment.
The Job Role:
You will assist in the smooth running of the robotic dairy unit, supporting herd health, feeding, youngstock management, and daily routines. You'll work closely with the Owners and existing team, stepping up when needed and contributing to the farm's high standards of animal welfare and productivity.

Salary Package:
£35,000 - £40,000 depending on experience
Three-bedroom on site accommodation.
Key Responsibilities For The Herdsperson:
Assist with daily operation of robotic milking systems (including routine checks, maintenance and hygiene).
Support with cow health monitoring, calving, lameness, general husbandry and AI.
Maintain cleanliness and comfort in cubicles and housing.
Help manage feeding routines and report on feed intakes.
Assist with calf care and youngstock management.
Ensure all staff comply with the Farm's Health and Safety Policy.
Manage contractors that come to site in the absence of the Owners.
Keep accurate health and treatment records (Uniform Agri and Cow Manager).
Communicate effectively within existing team and Owners to support herd decisions.
Help maintain high welfare standards.
Candidate Skills and Experience:
At least 3-5 years' experience in dairy farming.
Confident in basic animal husbandry including milking, feeding, and health observation.
Keen interest in developing herd management skills.
Some exposure to herd health treatments or calving desirable.
Experience with farm record-keeping or willingness to learn.
Team-oriented with good communication skills.
Full UK driving licence required.

Willing to learn and grow in the role.
Able to follow instructions and work both independently and within a team.
