The role
As a HR Business Partner, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will work in close partnership with senior leaders and Contract Directors to align people strategy with operational objectives. This is a senior, influential role where your expertise will shape decision making, drive performance and support sustainable growth across a complex, multi-site organisation.
Day to day you’ll be required to:
1. Partner with business leaders to align people strategy with operational and contract objectives
2. Provide expert advice on employee relations, performance management and complex people cases
3. Coach and challenge senior leaders to improve decision making and people outcomes
4. Lead and support organisational change activities, including restructures and TUPE where required
5. Use people data and insight to identify trends, risks and opportunities and influence strategy
Location and Working Pattern
This role is full-time,37 hours per week, and supports our operations across MOD Lyneham and MOD Bovington offering flexibility in how it is delivered. A car allowance is included to support travel between sites.
We are open to a range of working arrangements depending on candidate suitability, including:
6. A full-time role with regular presence across both sites (typically split across the week), or
7. A full-time role primarily based at Lyneham with travel to Bovington as required, or
8. A part-time role focused on Bovington, or
9. A part-time role focused on Lyneham
We’re keen to attract the strongest possible talent and are open to discussing practical working arrangements that support both business needs and individual circumstances.
We particularly welcome applications from candidates based within reasonable travelling distance of Salisbury, Tidworth, Amesbury, Warminster, Westbury or surrounding areas, where travel to sites is more manageable.

Essential experience of the HR Business Partner:
10. Proven experience operating as an HR Business Partner within a large, complex and multi-site organisation
11. Strong experience managing employee relations and industrial relations, including working in a trade union environment
12. Demonstrated ability to influence, coach and challenge senior leaders with credibility
13. Experience supporting and leading organisational change initiatives
14. Ability to use people analytics and commercial insight to drive improved business outcomes
Qualifications for the HR Business Partner:
15. CIPD qualified to Level 5 as a minimum, Level 7 would be advantageous, or equivalent professional experience
16. Educated to degree level or equivalent professional experience
