Overview
Our team has an established track record of successfully delivering major multidisciplinary rail projects from our regional offices in London and Croydon and interfacing with other regional teams and global design centres. We provide design, assessment, inspection, construction support and management services on a wide range of rail projects, including feasibility studies, outline designs and detailed designs for clients from the private and public sector such as Network Rail, London Underground, TfL, Nexus, TfGM and SYPTE as well as Tier 1 contractors.
Responsibilities
* Lead the engineering design and oversight of civil, structural, and railway schemes across all stages of the project lifecycle.
* Prepare and review detailed designs, calculations, specifications, CAD drawings and technical reports ensuring accuracy, constructability, economic viability and compliance with all applicable codes, standards and client specifications.
* Collaborate with the Project Manager to cascade responsibilities through the team, ensuring clear communication and deliverable quality.
* Attend construction sites during the construction phase to verify that work is performed in accordance with design drawings and specifications.
* Maintain a thorough understanding of Health and Safety, CDM and other relevant regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
* BSc, BEng or MEng degree in civil engineering.
* Chartered Engineer ICE (or working towards) and membership of a professional institution.
* Significant experience within Rail civils and structures, having taken the lead on Civil and Structural Rail projects.
* Proven experience in delivering rail projects to client satisfaction at the appropriate standard, ensuring accuracy of drawings and calculations, economic and constructable designs and compliance with relevant codes and standards.
* Strong business development and client relationship skills with the ability to develop and manage the work of others.
* Experience using Network Rail, London Underground, Railway Group Standards as well as relevant British Standards and Eurocodes is desirable.
