Job Title: Facility Procurement Professional
Location: Peterlee, UK
Working Hours: 36.5 hours per week (Early finish Fridays)
Contract Duration: 12 Months
Pay Rate: Up to GBP27.00 per hour
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Procurement Professional to join our facility team in Peterlee. This is a hands:on role supporting the production of large:scale heavy machinery. You will act as the vital link between our suppliers and the manufacturing floor, ensuring a lean and resilient flow of materials from source to dock.
The unique aspect of this role is flexibility; we are looking for a strong procurement background and can adapt the supplier portfolio to match your specific technical expertise:particularly if you have experience with foundries, castings, or metallurgical suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
Manage supplier relationships and resolve any facility:specific supply issues.
Identify and execute opportunities for cost reduction and inventory optimization.
Use MRP systems to monitor schedules, oversee orders, and ensure realistic delivery dates.
Monitor supply network performance against cost, quality, and lean targets.
Collaborate with internal teams to assess risks and deliver sound business proposals.
Working Schedule
Monday to Thursday: 08:00 : 16:30
Friday: 08:00 : 12:30 (Half day)
What We Are Looking For
Experience: Proven procurement experience within a manufacturing environment (ideally heavy machinery, automotive, or yellow goods).
Technical Knowledge: A strong understanding of Manufacturing Requirements Planning (MRP) and data:driven decision:making.
Analytical Skills: The ability to look at complex data, identify trends, and choose the best course of action.
Supplier Management: Experience in managing delivery timelines and quality standards with a broad range of suppliers.
Systems: Previous experience with SAP or MACH1 is highly advantageous.
