Overview
Hours: 38 hours/week. (Mon-Fri, 07:30-15:36) Join us at Thames Water as a Network Metering Technician in a full-time, permanent role. You'll play a key part in maintaining and repairing district and zonal meters, as well as critical pressure points, ensuring the reliability of our water network reporting systems. This field-based role offers variety, independence, and the chance to make a real impact using your technical and diagnostic skills.
Responsibilities
* Carry out both proactive and reactive maintenance on our electrical network equipment, including meters, critical pressure points, Bulk Meters and logging.
* Review the technical history of assets to plan and carry out a suitable maintenance strategy.
* Be always aware of the impact of your technical decisions on work being carried out on the network, as well as how customers, internal and external, are affected.
* Work with field teams and the control function to determine the cause of water supply issues.
Qualifications
* Relevant qualifications such as ONC/HNC, NVQ, BTEC, or City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
* Hands-on experience with electrical instrumentation.
* Familiarity with SCADA systems and the ability to learn bespoke software.
* Strong communication skills, comfortable interacting with both colleagues and the public.
* A proactive, self-motivated attitude with strong organisational skills.
* A full and clean UK driving licence is essential.
Additional skills
* High standards of reliability, safety awareness, and attention to compliance.
* Due to the nature of the role, ideally with knowledge of the Road Traffic Management Act (NRSWA), although full training regarding this can be provided.
