Packing Associate Location: East Grinstead Pay Rate: £13.20 plus 20% shift allowance = £15.84 Shifts: Days: Week 1 Wed & Thu, Week 2 Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat & Sun Hours: 7.30 - 17.15, 8.15 - 18.00, 9.15 - 19.00 The main function of a Packaging Associate is to support the daily production of microbiological diagnostic products, specifically the Sensititre product, by dispensing, drying, packaging, and labeling items within a controlled clean area. Based in the Microbiology Division (MBD) of the Specialty Diagnostics Group, this role contributes to public health and safety by helping deliver solutions for infectious disease diagnosis and bacterial contamination detection. Location/Division Specific Information: Working as part of our Microbiology Division (MBD), within the Speciality Diagnostics Group, you'll play an active part in helping us to achieve our mission. The Microbiology Division discovers microbiological solutions for the diagnosis of infectious disease and detection of bacterial contamination. We serve public health, clinical laboratories, food companies, environmental screening and pharmaceutical laboratories with a portfolio of products that include culture media, antimicrobial susceptibility testing solutions and market-leading molecular solutions for food safety testing. How Will You Make an Impact? The Process Department is responsible for daily manufacture of the Sensititre product; this consists of dispensing, drying, packaging and labelling of the finished product. The Process Operator works within a controlled clean area. A Day in the Life: Dispensing line: Feeding plates into, checking plates produced on, loading plates onto trays ready for drying; Packing line: packing dried plates in foil pouches, boxing pouched plates into sales units Accessory products: Assembly, bagging and/or packing of other accessory products as required. Other: Reconciliation of batch numbers, manufacture of ID seals, general cleaning duties in controlled clean area and packing room areas. Further duties and responsibilities as required and within the capabilities of the post holder. Education: High School Diploma, Secondary Education, Advanced Certificate, or equivalent.
