Project Manager – Property Management (M&E, Decommissioning & Specialist Relocation)
Contract via our client | Immediate start preferred
Our client is looking for a high‑calibre Project Manager (L2) to lead a series of specialist property projects, including M&E works, technical decommissioning and a nationally significant archive relocation.
This role is not for someone looking to “step up” or learn on the job. You’ll need to hit the ground running, manage complex stakeholders, and confidently deliver medium‑complexity projects from day one.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for delivering key programmes such as:
* Major archive relocation involving controlled environmental handling
* Decommissioning of IT Hall systems and repurposing of technical spaces
* Property infrastructure, refurbishment and change projects
Travel to the client’s Exeter site will be required.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Owning end‑to‑end project delivery (time, cost, quality)
* Coordinating contractors and multidisciplinary teams
* Managing risks, issues and dependencies with confidence
* Tracking budgets and ensuring financial control
* Engaging stakeholders at all levels with clarity and authority
* Maintaining robust project plans, controls and governance reporting
1. Essential Criteria (Please read before applying)
Only apply if you meet ALL of the following:
* Prince2 Practitioner, APM PMQ or equivalent proven project delivery experience
* Practical working knowledge of CDM Regulations
* History of delivering medium‑complexity projects (not assistant/ support roles)
* Experience in M&E, decommissioning, infrastructure or property change projects
* Ability to manage multiple workstreams with shifting priorities
* Strong stakeholder management — including challenging conversations
* Excellent communication and structured reporting skills
If this isn’t your background, this role won’t be the right fit.
Why This Will Suit You
You’ll enjoy this role if you like variety, autonomy, and visible impact — and you’re confident taking ownership. The projects are meaningful, the environment is dynamic, and the expectations are high.
