Through specialist support, advice, and training, we enable people and their families to build confidence and skills for a brighter future. Our diverse services span the north of England and include a specialist College in Harrogate for young people aged 16-25, an Arts and Crafts Centre in Knaresborough, Housing and Supported Living services across Yorkshire and the North East, and Community Services in Manchester and Liverpool that promote social connections and independence.
Position
We are looking for a Health and Safety Officer who can lead day to day operational health and safety across Henshaws. This role suits someone who is practical, calm under pressure and confident working with teams across different sites. You will help ensure safe and positive environments for staff, students, artmakers and visitors.
Salary
£18.02 per hour which is £32,796.40 per annum - From 1st April £18.76 per hour (£34,141.05 per annum)
Hours per week: 35 and part time may be considered
Weeks per year: 52
Annual leave: 5 weeks plus 10 days bank holiday
Contract: Permanent
Location: Henshaws College Starbeck Harrogate with travel to other sites

Requirements
You will need:
* NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent
* Commitment to working towards a NEBOSH Diploma or similar qualification
* Practical experience delivering health and safety in an operational setting
* Experience completing and reviewing risk assessments
* Experience supporting statutory compliance including fire safety, water hygiene and COSHH
* Strong organisational and planning skills
* Confident communication and relationship building skills
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook
* Flexibility to travel between Henshaws sites
* Enhanced DBS check including child barring list
* A positive and supportive approach to disabled people and learners with additional needs
It would be helpful if you have
* Evidence of continuing professional development
* Understanding of regulated education care or SEND environments
