Thank you for your interest in the Head of Chemistry position at Y Pant School.
Science is a thriving department at Y Pant with a strong track record in both uptake and results. Situated in a state of the art building, the department houses a team of 12 teachers, all with access to the latest C-Touch technology and state of the art laboratories to assist learning. The department also has three prep rooms and is supported by two science technicians. The Science Department makes a strong contribution to the school’s target for continued success.
The three disciplines of Biology, Chemistry and Physics work very closely together under the Head of Science.
We are looking to appoint a dedicated, dynamic and ambitious Head of Chemistry to lead a team of strong practitioners and continue the tradition of excellence within this subject area. The successful applicant would need to continue to foster the genuine love of science amongst our students.
The successful candidate will:
•be a team player with strong interpersonal skills
•be an excellent classroom practitioner
•demonstrate excellent subject knowledge
•thoroughly enjoy teaching science
•be passionate about the subject and the various occupations its study can lead to
•be able to teach across the whole ability and age range
•be committed to extra-curricular activities, especially STEM, and be prepared to lead them
•be ambitious for themselves as a professional and for their pupils academically

Start date: 1st January 2027 however the school is open to discussions around an earlier start date.
