The CEO Role To lead Cedarwood Trust into its next chapter — sustaining impact, strengthening finances, building partnerships, and ensuring we remain a trusted community anchor while gaining recognition as a national exemplar. Key Responsibilities The Chief Executive will provide leadership and direction for Cedarwood Trust, working closely with the Board of Trustees, staff, volunteers and partners. Core areas of responsibility include: Vision & Strategy: Lead the organisation in delivering its mission, rooted in the proposed new charitable objects. Community & Impact: Ensure Cedarwood continues to deliver meaningful impact in North Tyneside and beyond, rooted in dignity, inclusion and lived experience. Financial Sustainability: Secure diverse income streams and embed models that balance contracts, grants, fundraising, trading, and social investment. Leadership & People: Inspire, support and develop our staff and volunteers, building a culture of inclusivity, dignity and ambition. Partnerships & Profile: Build strong relationships with Trustees, funders, commissioners, corporates, local authorities and voluntary sector partners. Act as a confident ambassador to raise Cedarwood’s profile locally and regionally. Governance & Compliance: Work with the Board to ensure sound governance, risk management, legal and regulatory compliance. Support the transition to CIO status. Resilience: Lead with determination and adaptability in a challenging external environment, ensuring Cedarwood’s long-term stability. Innovation & Growth: Explore and implement new service and enterprise models that respond to local needs and national opportunities.
