Job Title: Senior Safety Specialist
As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for providing critical safety advice to project managers and engineers. Your expertise will ensure that safety considerations are correctly implemented throughout various programs.
You will engage with third parties to review and gather supporting Design Safety Justification (DSJ) report evidence. Additionally, you will develop safety arguments using appropriate methods, producing and updating DSJ's and safety management documentation in accordance with relevant regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Advise on product safety matters to project and engineering managers
* Engage with third parties to review and gather supporting DSJ report evidence
* Develop safety arguments using appropriate safety analysis methods
* Manage safety practitioners within your team
Requirements:
* Degree level qualification in a relevant STEM subject (Engineering/ Physics/ Maths/ Science)
* Broad knowledge of industry safety standards (Def Stan and 00-056, IEC 61508 or similar)
* Experience in safety engineering activities in the defence, maritime or highly regulated domain

You will work alongside a team of engineers and technical specialists designing, developing, integrating, managing and supporting complex systems and combat sub-systems for in-service and future submarines.
We offer relocation support packages for submarine roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
