Help Nature Thrive Engagement Officer
Location: The Regent's Park, London (with regular travel to The Hyde Park Learning Centre and other parks)
Base pay range
£33,666 - £35,000 per annum, depending on experience
The Organisation
The Royal Parks (TRP) is a charity created in March 2017. It manages over 5,000 acres of diverse parkland, rare habitats and historic buildings and monuments across eight Royal Parks in London: Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, The Green Park, St James’s Park, The Regent's Park, Primrose Hill, Greenwich Park, Richmond Park and Bushy Park. It also manages other public spaces such as Brompton Cemetery and Victoria Tower Gardens. These parks attract tens of millions of visits each year.
Help Nature Thrive (HNT) is an initiative tackling the global biodiversity crisis by making the Royal Parks more resilient, biodiverse and connected to visitors. It is supported by £1.2M of funding from the People’s Postcode Lottery and aims to deliver park conservation improvements, enhance visitors’ learning journeys and collect data to inform management practices.
We are now looking for an Engagement Officer to join our HNT team on a full‑time basis until 30 September 2026, subject to funding. This role is funded by the People’s Postcode Lottery.

The Role
As an Engagement Officer, you will support the Help Nature Thrive team to increase participation, volunteering and communication at the Royal Parks. Working with park teams, local councils and other stakeholders, you will identify new target groups, develop plans and nature‑focused engagement opportunities to attract a range of community groups and individuals to the parks.
You will also support the effective promotion of Help Nature Thrive to a variety of audiences, including park visitors, volunteers and the general public.
Responsibilities

* Keep detailed records of expenditure
* Maintain budgets and financial records
About You
* Experience developing and delivering engagement events in natural sciences, ecology, zoology, parks, green spaces, horticulture and conservation
* Experience developing relationships with a range of stakeholders and visitors
* A passion for, and knowledge of, UK urban nature
* Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
* Proficiency in IT, including Microsoft Office
* A degree‑level qualification in an environmental or social science subject or equivalent experience in a relevant field
* A full, valid driving licence
* Note: this role will involve occasional evening and weekend work
