Robert Half are delighted to be supporting a charity in South Gloucester on the recruitment of a permanent and full time Finance Officer. This is a fully office-based role, with working hours of 9am to 5pm, with an hour's lunch break.
Candidates looking for 4 days per week can also be considered.
Responsibilities of the Finance Officer include but are not limited to:
* Manage sales and purchase ledgers, monitor outstanding invoices, and prepare bank payments for approval.
* Record all bank transactions, reconcile monthly bank accounts, petty cash and supplier statements.
* Prepare monthly payroll, account for payroll costs, liabilities, and staff expense claims.
* Perform monthly financial adjustments, including accruals, prepayments and income deferrals.
* Draft VAT returns, post VAT journals, and submit monthly Gift Aid claims.
* Support finance team goals, assist senior staff with financial queries, improve processes, contribute to projects and aid in audit preparation.
Your Profile:
* Prior experience working in a bookkeeping role is essential.
* Ability to work well at pace and to deadlines.
* Experience in the not for profit/charity sector is highly desirable.
* Highly organised and methodical approach to work.
* Confident communicator.
