Quantity Surveyor
Location: Midlands
Salary: Up to £70,000 DOE + Car/Allowance + Bonus
I’m working with a well-established, privately owned civil engineering contractor delivering infrastructure schemes across the Midlands.
With over 40 years in the industry and secured long-term framework agreements across water, transport and energy, this business offers genuine job security and clear progression routes.
Projects typically range from £200k to £10m+ and include both framework and standalone schemes.
This role offers real commercial influence, not just reporting.
The Role
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will provide commercial support across live infrastructure projects, ensuring strong cost control, accurate forecasting and effective subcontract management.
You’ll work closely with operational teams and senior commercial leadership to:
* Produce accurate monthly CVRs and forecasts
* Manage cost and value reconciliation
* Administer NEC contracts
* Procure and manage subcontractors
* Negotiate variations and agree final accounts
* Identify commercial opportunities and mitigate risk
* Drive cash recovery and margin protection
* This is a hands-on commercial role with exposure to complex infrastructure environments.
What They’re Looking For
* Experience within civil engineering or infrastructure
* HND or Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
* NEC contract knowledge
* Strong forecasting and reporting capability
* Experience managing subcontract procurement and accounts
* Commercially confident and able to challenge costs
* RICS or working towards is advantageous but not essential.
This is ideal for a QS looking to step into a business where they can influence performance rather than just maintain it.
If you’re open to exploring new opportunities in civil engineering across the Midlands, apply in confidence or message me directly.
Full company details will be disclosed at interview stage.
