Events Assistant - Job Description Purpose of the Role To deliver exceptional food and beverage service across all events, ensuring every guest receives professional, welcoming, and high-quality experience. This role supports the operational team in preparing, setting, and servicing function rooms and events areas in line with event briefs and service standards. The assistant plays a key part in upholding health and safety, cleanliness, and service excellence across all areas. Direct Report: Events Supervisor Key Responsibilities and Tasks Events Setups and Preparation Assist in the preparation and setup of function rooms based on event briefs and SOPs Set up food service stations, drink bars, coffee points, and meeting rooms in a timely and orderly fashion Ensure that all furniture, linen, crockery, glassware, and equipment are correctly positioned and clean Food and Beverage Service Serve food and beverages professionally and efficiently in line with SOPs and function requirements Ensure beverage and buffet stations are kept stocked, clean, and visually appealing throughout service Top up guest food and drinks proactively, maintaining awareness of guest needs Clear used plates, glasses, and other service items promptly and discreetly Cleanliness, Hygiene and Compliance Ensure all event spaces, stations, and back-of-house areas are hygienic, safe, and compliant with health & safety regulations Handle food safely in accordance with food hygiene standards and personal hygiene requirements Report any issues with equipment, cleanliness, or safety immediately to the supervisor or manager Guest Interaction & Problem Solving Respond promptly and courteously to guest queries or requests, escalating when needed Maintain a visible and helpful presence on the floor during events Assist in resolving minor guest issues and ensure guest satisfaction is upheld Stock and Equipment handling Assist in stock replenishment, equipment set-down, and correct storage post-event Report damaged, lost, or malfunctioning equipment to the relevant manager immediately Maintain tidy and well-organized storage areas Operational Support Complete basic event paperwork or checklists as required Maintain full compliance with the required training, including health & safety, food hygiene, and company systems (e.g. CPL) Adhere to shift handover procedures and support smooth transitions between event teams Absence Reporting Follow the company’s sickness and absence policy, ensuring a minimum of 5 hours’ notice is given to your line manager if you are unable to attend a scheduled shift WHAT DO WE OFFER IN RETURN?
