Description Closing Date: 2 November 2025 11:59PM Salary: £31,296 - £35,526 Grade: 5 Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) is at the forefront of helping to protect the UK from terrorist attacks. This is a regional role involving travel across the Counter Terrorism Policing West Midlands (CTP WM) area (including Staffordshire, Warwickshire, and West Mercia). Our Prevent team works to build relationships with all members of the community including enhancing links with key organisations. The roles cover both case management and strategic engagement. The role will be based at the Prevent Hub in either Summerfield, Bilston or our modern offices near to Birmingham International Airport. You’ll work Monday to Friday, but flexibility will be necessary to meet operational requirements. The role As part of the strategic engagement team you’ll drive and deliver the Prevent agenda across the wider policing family, facilitating engagement between policing teams, partner organisations and communities through the development and delivery of presentations and training packages, delivering face to face inputs and managing continuous professional development for internal and external partners. The role requires a mature understanding of Prevent as a strategy and the role it plays in wider policing legitimacy. You’ll have excellent diplomacy and collaboration skills. Responsibilities Working collaboratively with Prevent partners in local authorities, schools, higher/ further educational institutions, faith institutions/organisations, the health sector, the prison and probation services. Delivering briefings to local policing staff, partners and communities Development of training packages, events, online training and continuous professional development inputs and delivering these. Targeted delivery of the above, using analytical data, to priority areas across the region. Administrating and managing the Prevent Ambassador scheme, promoting, encouraging and supporting the delivery of Prevent with police staff and officers across the region. Taking minutes and actions at meetings when required. Acting as a subject matter expert, providing specialist support to others. Skills and competencies Essential Ability to prepare and confidently deliver sensitive and emotive presentations to large audiences. Experience and understanding of partnership working. Excellent influential and communication skills with confidence in public speaking. Highest standards of discretion and sensitivity when handling information on community security, issues and intelligence. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. Excellent written skills, with the ability to research and develop detailed and accurate presentations. Effective IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook. Good awareness of current events and CT issues and the effect that they may have on local communities. Full clean driving licence. Desirable Previous experience of working in a risk management environment or with partner agencies. Understanding of the Prevent strategy. Basic knowledge of TACT legislation. Security Clearance ⚠ This post requires British nationality (some dual nationalities may be ineligible) and an Enhanced Security Check Clearance. You will need to undergo additional security clearance checks, with the offer of employment being conditional on obtaining all of the necessary security clearances. There are limitations on travelling to a small number of countries once in post.
