A major public sector body in the Greater Belfast area is seeking an experienced and forward‑thinking Head of Property Maintenance to lead the delivery of high‑quality maintenance services across a diverse property portfolio. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior estates professional to step into a strategic leadership role with real impact, initially on a 6‑month contract with strong potential for longer‑term or permanent appointment.
Your new role
As Head of Property Maintenance, you will provide strategic direction, operational leadership and professional oversight for all planned, reactive andpliance‑related maintenance activities. You will ensure that buildings and assets are safe, well maintained and aligned with organisational standards, statutory requirements and best practice.
You will lead multidisciplinary teams, manage external contractors, oversee budgets and drive continuous improvement across maintenance operations. This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, leadership capability and the ability to deliver high‑quality services in aplex, customer‑focused environment.Key Responsibilities:Lead and manage the delivery of property maintenance services across a large and varied estate.Oversee planned, reactive andpliance maintenance programmes to ensure safety, quality and statutorypliance.Manage internal teams and external contractors, ensuring performance, value for money and service excellence.Develop and implement maintenance strategies, policies and procedures.Monitor budgets, procurement activity and contract performance.Provide expert technical advice to senior management and stakeholders.Drive continuous improvement, innovation and best practice across maintenance operations.Ensure effective reporting, risk management andernance processes are in place.Build strong working relationships with internal departments, external partners and regulatory bodies.
What you'll need to succeed
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior estates, property or maintenance management role within aplex organisation.A degree in a construction, engineering or surveying related discipline or Chartered status with a relevant professional body (, RICS, CIOB, CIBSE).Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing large‑scale maintenance programmes.Strong technical knowledge of building maintenance,pliance, asset management and statutory requirements.Demonstrable experience managing contractors, budgets and procurement processes.Excellentmunication, stakeholder engagement and problem solving skills.
