The Senior People & Development Advisor plays a key role in delivering proactive, professional HR support across the business. Acting as a trusted partner to line managers, you will provide advice and guidance on a wide range of HR matters, ensuring alignment with employment legislation, best practices, and business objectives. This position supports the full employee lifecycle, contributes to a positive workplace culture, and helps drive strategic HR initiatives.

Reporting to: People & Development Manager, UK.

Direct Reports: No direct reports

Role Responsibilities:

1. Support the implementation and continuous improvement of HR policies, procedures, and processes in line with legislation and organizational strategy.
2. Provide first-line HR advice and guidance on employee relations, performance management, disciplinary, grievance, absence, and capability issues.
3. Manage recruitment processes in collaboration with hiring managers, including job design, advertising, shortlisting, interviews, and onboarding.
4. Advise on pay and benefits benchmarking and support annual pay review and promotion cycles.
5. Support employee engagement initiatives and wellbeing programmes, collaborating with managers to promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
6. Assist in the coordination and delivery of learning and development programmes, performance appraisals, and succession planning.
7. Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, ensuring compliance with data protection and audit requirements.
8. Provide guidance and support to P&D Coordinators, encouraging continual professional development and fostering a positive team culture.
9. Liaise with external providers (e.g., occupational health, training partners, legal advisors) to ensure high-quality support services.
10. Support HR-related projects such as restructures, TUPE transfers, change initiatives, and diversity and inclusion plans.
11. Ensure compliance with employment law and regulations, including iR35, GDPR, and offshore requirements.
12. Monitor HR metrics and produce reports to inform decision-making.
13. Take a proactive approach to continuous improvement and development of the company’s systems and processes.
14. Perform ad hoc duties as requested by management.
15. Travel for business or attendance at social events may be necessary.

Recruitment:

1. Review current recruitment system and process, ensuring fitness for purpose and providing recommendations for improvements.
2. Oversee the recruitment process from start to finish, implementing cost-effective strategies to attract top talent in each location, understanding local market conditions.
3. Implement and improve the time-to-hire metrics for key positions.
4. Support the People & Development Coordinator with the onboarding process.

Training & Development:

1. Support the development of a company-wide training and development strategy to meet competency needs.
2. Support the design and implementation of career development plans and leadership training initiatives, including P&D toolkit for managers.
3. Support the development of robust talent development and succession planning frameworks.

HSEQ Responsibilities:

* Ensure the company meets its statutory obligations related to health, safety, and welfare at work, including statutory training and reporting.
