JOB TITLE: TOWN PLANNERLOCATION: CORNWALL
Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well respected consultancy in their search for a Town Planner to join their team in Cornwall.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well established and highly regarded planning consultancy with a strong presence across the South West. The successful Town Planner will work across a diverse portfolio of projects, including residential, rural, and commercial developments, gaining valuable exposure and responsibility within a supportive team environment.
THE ROLE
You will be involved in delivering planning projects from initial site appraisal through to submission and determination, supporting a wide range of clients.
This role is ideal for a Town Planner looking to develop their experience across varied sectors, while working closely with senior team members and building strong client relationships.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Preparing and managing planning applications and appeals Undertaking site appraisals and planning feasibility assessments Preparing planning statements and supporting documentation Liaising with Local Planning Authorities and key stakeholders Supporting senior planners on complex projects Attending site visits, client meetings, and consultations Conducting planning policy research and analysis Supporting project delivery to meet deadlines and client expectations
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
RTPI accredited degree in Town Planning or a related discipline Working towards MRTPI (or recently achieved) Experience within a planning consultancy or local authority environment Strong knowledge of UK planning policy and legislation Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organisational skills and attention to detail * A proactive and team-oriented approach
