We are a 4000 patient, forward thinking practice, based in the town of Dronfield, easily accessible from Sheffield or Chesterfield. On site parking is available.
We are looking for a part time receptionist/administrator to join our reception/administration team. The candidate needs to be reliable, flexible, enthusiastic and enjoy working in a small team.
We are looking for someone to work 20hrs a week, Monday 1-6.30pm. Wednesday 2-6.30pm and Thursday 8-6.30pm. The candidate must have flexibility to cover sickness and annual leave.
The candidate will be organised, efficient and have excellent and strong communication skills and work well within a small team.
The candidate will be communicating with all health care professionals, internally and externally.
Main duties of the job
To ensure the smooth running of the reception area, dealing with patients face to face and on the telephone, booking appointments. Provide support to the Practice team. Deal with enquires and queries from patients and other organisations. There will also be administration work that will need to be undertaken, for example typing duties and booking hospital referrals.

We use SystmOne clinical system, AccRux and Ardens.
Job responsibilities
* To be the first point of contact for our patients, either face to face or by telephone.
* Booking appointments with the appropriate clinician.
* Processing patient prescriptions manually and electronically.
* Processing of emails in the admin email inbox.
* Distribution of internal and external post.
* Scanning hospital letters and any other relevant documents.
* Coding of hospital letters.
* Dealing with subject access requests.
* Typing letters.
* Filing of Medical Records.
* Using clinical systems for patient communication.
* Process patient registrations including temporary registration forms, ensuring they are completed before accepting.
* Liaising with all members of the Practice Team.
* Responsibility for the opening/closing process of the practice, ensuring security systems are in place and activated.
* To provide a high quality front-line reception service to our patients and visitors.
* Dealing with queries from Patients, Pharmacies, Hospitals and other external parties.
* Monitor reception and waiting room areas, ensuring they are clean and tidy.
* Accepting samples from patients, ensuring they are labelled adequately.
* Adhere to practice policies, including Health & Safety.
* Testing the fire alarm system weekly.
* Chaperone for clinician if requested.
* Any other duties that may be requested by the Practice Manager or GP Partners.
Experience
* Experience of using SystmOne.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Experience of using Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Excel.
* Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team.
Qualifications
* GCSE - grade 4-9 (A to C) in Maths and English
* Medical Terminology qualification/training
