We provide bespoke, community-based support to individuals with complex needs; including a mental health diagnosis, neurodiversity, or those who may have endured trauma. The people we support may have spent an extended period in hospital or another setting, therefore we utilise a person-centred approach; empowering individuals to become as independent as possible within their own homes About the Role We are seeking passionate and dedicated staff to work with our fantastic clients in our accommodation settings in the Eastbourne area. Supporting clients with practical and emotional tasks to develop their independent living skills, this is an immensely rewarding role, Working with a team of extraordinary support staff, you will help our clients to grow and flourish, celebrating their achievements both big and small. Job Opportunity We do not offer Sponsorship with this role You will be working alongside a highly skilled team including a Psychologist and Behaviour Analyst. You will be able to muti-task with a positive and supportive style to reflect the Venture People ethos of “therapeutic optimism” within the service. You will be skilled in rapport building and happy to work as part of a multidisciplinary team. This role is incredibly rewarding, assisting clients with daily living providing support with planning (meals & shopping for example), attending appointments and community re-engagement. We do not offer personal care and work with clients facing a mental health diagnosis, often with complex needs and/or trauma backgrounds. Key Skills To facilitate the delivery of a service which follows a person-centred ethos and promotes independence. This may include practical tasks such as cooking or going to appointments with clients. Providing support for clients to engage in activities in their local community, accompanying them if needed as part of their package of support. To complete dynamic risk assessments and support plans. Work with the accommodation team to ensure cooperation and continuity of support. Ensure adherence to company and national policies and procedures. To work flexibly as required by the service; this may require some working outside of your normal hours to provide consistent support. Monthly workshops with our Clinical Team as well as access to our library of previous sessions Essential Skills Skills & Experience Previous experience as a support worker, ideally within an accommodation setting. Mental Health/LD/Neurodiverse support experience Ability to positively address and challenge inappropriate or negative behaviours and attitudes. Experience of using therapeutic de-escalation and/or crisis intervention techniques. Able to respond to changes in an individual’s needs and meet deadlines.
