Outdoor Educator SEN
Location: Sheffield (S12)
Salary Scale: £95-£110 ped day
Status: Full Time
Currently, GSL Education is looking to fill a job at one of our client schools in Sheffield. As an Outdoor Educator SEN, you will play a key role in delivering engaging and enriching outdoor learning experiences for students of all ages and abilities. From leading nature hikes and team-building activities to facilitating environmental projects and wilderness expeditions, you will help students develop essential life skills, foster a love for nature, and build confidence in their abilities.
Responsibilities:
* Plan, coordinate, and deliver outdoor education sessions aligned with curriculum objectives on the basis of special need of the students.
* Lead and supervise outdoor activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of all students at all times.
* Collaborate with teachers to integrate outdoor learning into classroom lessons.
* Maintain outdoor education equipment and facilities.
* Assess student learning and provide feedback on progress.
* Actively promote environmental stewardship and sustainability initiatives.
Qualifications:
* Relevant experience in outdoor education, teaching, or youth work with in SEN setting is preferable.
* Strong knowledge of outdoor and environmental education principles and practices.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* First aid certification and relevant outdoor qualifications (e.g., Mountain Leader, Forest School Practitioner) preferred.
