Responsibilities:
* Collaborate closely with the head chef to develop menus that align with their culinary vision and standards.
* Assist in managing kitchen operations, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow.
* Oversee food preparation, cooking techniques, and plating presentations to guarantee high-quality and visually appealing dishes.
* Train and mentor kitchen staff, promoting teamwork, professionalism, and adherence to food safety and sanitation standards.
* Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and maintain accurate records of food and ingredient costs.
* Assist in creating and implementing new recipes, ensuring their consistent execution and maintaining recipe documentation.
* Continuously strive to improve culinary techniques and stay updated with the latest industry trends.
* Collaborate with the front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and customer satisfaction.
* Adhere to all health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Sous Chef or a similar role in a reputable B&I or education environment.
* Solid knowledge of various cooking techniques, ingredients, and flavor profiles.
* In-depth understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations.
* Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with the kitchen team.
* Creativity and the ability to develop innovative dishes while adhering to our culinary concept.
* Excellent organisational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality dishes.
* A culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus.
