Schedule/Hours:
40 hours per week, including at least one weekend day and at least 32 hours of direct care.
Reports To:
House Manager (Program Director) or their designee
Job Summary:
The Assistant Program Director supports the daily administration, programming, and operations of community-based Developmental Service programs. The role promotes Bay Cove’s mission through effective, compassionate services, advocacy, and leadership. This position is non-exempt.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Models professional and community behavior; supervises staff as assigned.
Essential Functions:
* Adhere to program models, clinical, programmatic, and quality protocols, supporting the Program Director in daily operations.
* Participate actively in staff meetings and facilitate them in the absence of the Program Director.
* Exercise clinical judgment in observing, supporting, and communicating about the program and individuals.
* Assist in developing and reporting on individuals’ I.S.P.s.
* Model and teach activities of daily living, including medication management, hygiene, and safety.
* Support meal planning, food shopping, and budgeting.
* Monitor and document client accounts and related financial records.
* Create opportunities for personal growth and independence based on individual preferences.
* Facilitate control and decision-making opportunities for individuals.
* Ensure safety procedures and crisis interventions are followed.
* Coordinate appointments and advocate for individuals’ needs.
* Maintain program documentation, including progress notes, medication logs, incident reports, and financial records.
* Perform household and property maintenance tasks.
* Serve as Human Rights Officer, ensuring respectful treatment and cultural sensitivity.
* Train new staff in residential work.
* Assist in staffing arrangements.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
* 1-3 years of experience in human services; GED or High School Diploma; college degree may substitute experience.
* Department of Public Health medication certification required; must obtain MAP certification within 6 months if not already certified.
* CPR & First Aid certification required within 30 days of hire.
* Safety Care certification required within 90 days of hire.
* Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and one year of driving experience.
* Strong reading, writing, communication, and computer skills.
* Physical ability to perform lifts or restraints.
* Use of personal cell phone and vehicle as needed.
