Due to career progression an opportunity has risen for a pharmacist with an interest in antimicrobial stewardship to join the antimicrobial stewardship team.
We are looking for an individual with motivation and enthusiasm to deliver the antimicrobial stewardship agenda and in conjunction with the Lead Antimicrobial Pharmacist. You will work closely with the Lead Antimicrobial Pharmacist to support antimicrobials management across the Trust. You will develop skills within a specialist antimicrobial role whilst building upon proven clinical skills. It is ideal for a pharmacist who is looking to gain experience working at a senior level.
The role will require you to apply your knowledge, skills and experience to improve patient care through effective use of antimicrobial agents and other control of infection interventions.
You will work closely with the Consultant Microbiologists and the Control of Infection team to promote clinical and cost-effective prescribing through evidence‑based guidelines. You will be supporting the Lead Antimicrobial Pharmacist with the development and implementation of antimicrobial audits or other antimicrobial stewardship focused projects. There will be opportunities to work with other specialist teams such as the Community Intravenous Therapy team and support other multidisciplinary work relating to antimicrobials use. You will also work within an identified specialist area providing clinical pharmacy services and other pharmacist duties as required by the department.
The Trust is a teaching hospital and a provider of specialist tertiary care for Cardiac, Haematology and adult Cystic Fibrosis services across this region. The Pharmacy Department provides specialist pharmacy services to these areas and more.
Our core values provide us with the framework to create the right culture that supports our staff to be the best they can be and achieve better care together for the benefit of our patients. Our values "Caring, Safe and Respectful" help to represent the culture of the Trust and to communicate who we are and how we do things. They also play an important part in encouraging people to come and work here and be part of the Trust themselves. The Trust is a forward‑thinking organisation and is constantly striving to improve services and medicine‑related outcomes for patients under our care.
