Plater / Welder
Location: Kingswinford, West Midlands
Hours:
* Monday to Thursday: 07:30 - 16:00
* Friday: 07:30 - 12:30
* Overtime: Paid at 1.5x after 37 hours per week
Salary: ?17.00 - ?18.00 per hour (depending on experience)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Plater / Welder to join a highly skilled fabrication and machining team working in a large, modern, ISO-certified engineering facility. You will play a critical role in producing heavy steel fabrications and structural components used in demanding sectors such as nuclear, subsea, oil & gas, mining, scientific research, and power generation.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform MIG and TIG welding in line with BS EN ISO 15614?1:2017+A1:2019 Level 2 procedures
* Qualify and maintain certifications to BS EN ISO 9606?1:2017 welding standards
* Fabricate components using carbon and stainless steels ranging from 6?mm to 100?mm in thickness
* Work with structural profiles such as beams, columns, channels, and angles
* Safely operate overhead cranes and lifting equipment for handling large components
* Ensure all welds meet contract-specific NDT standards (DPI, MPI, UT) as required
* Contribute to a quality-driven production environment focused on precision and compliance
Required Skills & Experience
* Proficient in MIG and TIG welding techniques
* Proven ability to work to detailed welding procedures and drawings
* Experience with heavy fabrication, structural steel, and large-scale projects
* Certified or eligible to certify to relevant BS EN ISO welding standards
* Comfortable using cranes, slings, and associated lifting equipment
* Understanding of third-party inspection techniques including dye penetrant, magnetic particle, and ultrasonic testing
* Committed to health & safety and maintaining high standards of workmanship
