This is a part time post with the aim of developing specialist Speech and Language Therapy provision within the East of England Forensic CAMH Service. The client group is young people aged up to who have been referred from professional agencies across the eastern region.
The post-holder will work within a multidisciplinary team which includes Psychiatry, psychologists, social workers, and nurses. The team works collaboratively with multi-agency colleagues from social care, education, and mental health teams to provide specialist input to assist in formulation, risk management and safeguarding of children referred to the service.
The post-holder is employed by CPFT and accountable through CPFT management and professional lines. The post will be located at City Care centre, Peterborough however the FCAMHS team has well embedded remote working processes. Because we are a regional team one to one work with children could be anywhere across the eastern region and so a ability to travel independently is essential for this role.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for the autonomous assessment and management of a highly specialist and complex caseload of young people with social emotional and Mental Health SEMH needs and other communication disorders which may present with additional diagnoses. The post holder will be responsible for management of all referrals relating to SEMH specialist settings across the region.
The post holder will be required to use their specialist clinical skills in the planning, development, and evaluation of the SEMH pathways, including contributing to defined projects as delegated by the Clinical Lead or Service manager. This involves supporting the local team in effective and equitable clinical decision making, ensuring that a good quality service is delivered and maintained. The post holder will be required to use their specialist clinical skills to develop and provide a range of training packages relating to supporting the communication needs of service users, to equip support staff and others with the specialist communication skills required to work with them.
