Overview
Looking for your first step into Engineering?
Want a hands-on role where you can learn, earn, and build a long-term career - all while working towards a recognised qualification?
We’re recruiting Engineering Apprentices to join our friendly and experienced Engineering team at our March site, home to our beetroot manufacturing operation supplying major UK retailers.
This is a fantastic opportunity for school or college leavers who are curious, practical, and excited to learn how real engineering works in a live production environment.
What will you be doing?
As an Engineering Apprentice, you’ll learn on the job while being supported by experienced Engineers. Your role will include:
* Helping diagnose and fix breakdowns on machinery and equipment
* Supporting planned maintenance to keep production lines running smoothly
* Learning how different machines and systems work across the site
* Getting involved in improvement projects to make equipment safer, faster, and more efficient
No previous engineering experience is needed - full training will be provided.
An interest in engineering or experience fixing things like cars, bikes, or equipment in your own time would be a great advantage.
What are we looking for?
We’re not looking for experts - we’re looking for the right attitude.
* Passion & Energy - an interest in engineering and the motivation to learn
* Team Player - you enjoy working with others and being part of a team
* Curiosity - you like finding out how things work and asking questions
* Ability to Communicate - you’re comfortable speaking face to face with different people, from colleagues on the shop floor to managers and visitors
What’s in it for you?
* Salary above apprentice minimum wage
* Level 3 Manufacturing Engineering Apprenticeship
* College 1 day a week, work on site 4 days a week
* Ongoing support, mentoring, and coaching
* Membership of our Early Careers Community, with development events and activities designed for our young talent population.
What happens next?
* Apply online - complete the application form and upload your CV.
* Initial chat - a member of our Talent Team will give you a call to talk about your interest in engineering, your motivation, and why you’d like to work at G’s.
* Assessment Centre - if shortlisted, you’ll be invited to our Engineering Assessment Centre in July, where you’ll meet our Engineering team and take part in a range of practical and team-based activities.
* Offer & start date - if successful, you’ll receive an offer to start your apprenticeship from September (or earlier, depending on your circumstances).
