Overview

Job Title : IT Support Engineer(2nd Line)
Location : Onsite in Rugby,Warwickshire

The Role
The IT Support Engineer will provide effective IT assistance across all aspects of the business and will coordinate the 1st Line technical support tasks, as required. The position is responsible for supporting and maintaining the Microsoft Server and Desktop operating systems, Printers, Barcode Scanners, and general maintenance of all IT-related hardware/software. The position provides exposure to a broad range of IT-related projects and activities.

Job Responsibilities

1. Reporting to Service Desk Manager re issue status / updates.
2. Working with L1 Tech support to ensure all tickets / issues raised resolved or escalated.
3. Diagnosing and resolving end user support issues including desktops, laptops, mobile phones, printers etc.
4. Setting up and configuring of new laptops and desktops including installation of authorised software
5. Network patching work including any user office movements involving computer hardware and phones
6. Supporting warehouse printers and scan guns at a technical level as well as maintaining consumable stocks
7. Ensuring all user equipment is logged and documented as well as software licensing and IT Documentation
8. Managing backups including Backup to Disk and Backup to Tape
9. Ensuring desktops and laptops are fully up to date especially critical security updates
10. Maintenance of user email accounts and domain accounts in Office and Active Directory inc. setting up new users and removing users that have left the company
11. Management and Support of telephony solution.
12. Experience in VMWare – Server setup and maintenance
13. Coordinate with 3rd party support partners as required to resolve issues.
14. Assist in coordination of licensing renewals and procurement as required
15. Be involved in rollout of new solutions / technology as required.
16. Previous exposure to Microsoft Dynamics AX (user setup and roles) an advantage.

Experience

17. Previous 1st Line and 2nd line IT Support
18. Minimum 5 to 7 years’ experience required
19. Strong Windows 11 knowledge
20. Strong O knowledge
