Maintenance Engineer

Location: Thornaby

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Salary: £35,000 per annum

We are seeking a hands-on Maintenance Engineer to support a busy production facility. The site consists of three 50x35m units and is the sole production location in the UK, with limited automation and operator-led machinery. This role is key to ensuring equipment uptime and smooth day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities for the maintenance engineer:

* Carry out reactive maintenance and breakdown repairs on production machinery (approximately 80% reactive, 20% PPM)
* Perform routine preventative maintenance to minimise equipment downtime
* Diagnose and repair faults-most commonly on cutting machinery
* Support general site maintenance including lighting, shutter doors, and building infrastructure
* Order and manage materials and parts needed for production
* Liaise with nearby workshops and external contractors as required
