This is an exciting time to be joining the Clinical Support Services Division as we embark on a journey of transformation and innovation. The Clinical Support Services (CSS) division has recently expanded and covers Oncology & Haematology, Pathology, Pharmacy, Radiology, Cardiorespiratory and Therapies across The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust.
We are a friendly, innovative and business‑focussed team located at the two main sites within the Trust – the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, the Princess Royal Hospital and the Community Diagnostics Centre, Telford – led by Anna Martin, Director of Operations, and Dr Angus McGregor, Divisional Medical Director.
Partnership working is key to this role. By working with internal and system partners you will ensure that our services are optimised to best support patient experience across the Trust and the wider system. You will utilise your extensive collaborative and influencing skills to deliver the business as usual and support the implementation of major projects and transformation work, including HTP.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will act as Deputy Divisional Director of Operations, CSS and as a member of the CSS leadership team, playing a key role in decision‑making within the Division. You will work with internal and system partners to support the implementation of major transformation projects, provide support for projects by creating business cases, plans and assurance as required, and support the Centres in the deployment of robust demand and capacity models.
Your portfolio will comprise a number of diagnostic services that support our Planned and UEC Pathways within SaTH and our community. You will be responsible for Radiology (including Cardio‑Respiratory), Pathology, and the Community Diagnostics Centre, which we host on behalf of our Integrated Care System.
Working closely with the CSS Centre Leadership Teams, SaTH Divisional Colleagues, Corporate Services, the Executive Team and STW System partners you will play a crucial role in developing the maturity and visibility of the progress of CSS transformation programmes.

Person Specification
Qualifications
 * Educated to Master's degree level or equivalent senior management experience
 * Evidence of highly developed professional management development within relevant field of practice
 * Evidence of a commitment to continuous professional development
 * Evidence of workforce planning/development/innovation
Experience and knowledge
 * Significant experience of working at a senior management or senior professional level in the acute healthcare sector
 * Experience of leading the implementation of service improvement including complex change management programmes
 * Evidence of effective management of a complex and diverse workforce
 * Evidence of successful management of achieving service targets in line with budgets
 * Successful experience of leadership at a senior managerial level in operational and/or financial and strategic management, including exposure to Board
 * Specialist knowledge, skills and experience in workforce development and innovation
 * Comprehensive knowledge of current practice and health policy requirements, specifically planned care and diagnostics
Skills & Knowledge
 * Presents complex and detailed data sets to explain key information that effectively communicates performance and assurance information to a range of stakeholders, including Trust board, System Partners including ICB
 * Ability to demonstrate influencing/negotiating skills to a range of staff groups/key stakeholders to deliver objectives and targets
 * Ability to analyse complex/ conflicting information in order to resolve issues (e.g. clinical risk vs workforce)
