Overview
Regional Command (RC) supports the Army by delivering the firm base: the enduring, essential support that enables the Army to live, work and operate wherever it is permanently based. It also supports the Army's engagement with society, supports the Army Cadets and contributes to the UK's national resilience and homeland defence. To deliver this we employ around 4,000 people, including Regular and Reserve Army personnel, Civil Servants and Locally Engaged Civilians across the whole of the UK and abroad.
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week. Regional Command is a complex and busy organisation supporting some of the Army's and Defence's most important objectives. The RC plans team is a small team of military and civilians that sits at the heart of Regional Command, cohering and co-coordinating planning activity across the whole organisation, ensuring activity is resourced and that change initiatives are delivered. The Plans Co-Ordinator is a core member of the team and this represents a fantastic opportunity to make an impact in a busy staff environment whilst developing your understanding of Defence and practice applying programme delivery skills in support of organisational change.
Responsibilities
* Support and lead planning teams, working groups and ad-hoc project teams
* Co-ordinate and schedule Regional Command's planning activities and change projects
* Identify, manage and report on risks
* Identifying and managing relevant stakeholders across the Army and Defence
* Managing the publication of orders, retention of knowledge and sustain corporate memory
* Support development and reporting of management information and organisational performance metrics

At application you will be asked to complete a Civil Service Verbal test and Civil Service Judgement Test. If successful, you will then be asked to provide a personal statement of no more than 500 words evidencing your suitability for the role against the person specification. You will also be assessed against the following behaviours:

Where a large number of applications are received, an initial sift will be conducted based on the evidence you provide in support of the Delivering at Pace behaviour. Your Personal Statement and the Making Effective Decisions behaviour will only be reviewed if you are successful at this initial sift. The Civil Service Judgement Test is not bankable and therefore must be taken on every vacancy where it is applied. Salary and benefits: Salary is £36,530 plus £10,582 employer pension contributions to the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme. Other benefits include annual leave, pension, professional development, flexible working where possible, EAP, parental/adoption leave, volunteering leave, and access to on-site facilities. The post does not offer relocation expenses. External recruits to MOD are subject to a six-month probation period. Travel interview expenses are not reimbursed. The Department is reviewing pay-related allowances which could impact current allowances. If applicable, you may be eligible for childcare schemes or Tax-Free Childcare.
