Commercial Services Manager – Environment Agency
Environment Agency is looking for a Commercial Services Manager to support the team overseeing the commercial governance of contracts with key consultancies and contractors. The role is vital to maximizing value for money and managing commercial risk across projects.
Team
Part of the Commercial Assurance and Framework Management (CAFM) team within Portfolio Management, Assurance & Commercial. Works with Integrated Delivery Management teams and the wider Project Management community.
Responsibilities
* Support commercial governance of contracts with key consultancies and contractors.
* Set up and manage pathfinder programmes to embed best practice and develop long‑term collaborative partnership arrangements.
* Provide country‑wide support to Integrated Delivery Management teams, championing effective governance and commercial assurance.
* Maintain incident response duties as required.
Qualifications
* Essential education: A‑Level or Level 3 qualification (or equivalent).
* Skilled communicator with strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
* Stakeholder management experience.
* Strong data and document management skills.
* Commercial acumen and ability to deliver value for money.
* Administration skills – strong organisation, minutes and report drafting.
* Willingness to pursue long‑term professional qualifications such as NEC training or CIPS.
* Interest in infrastructure, construction or environmental programmes.
* Desired: Degree or equivalent professional qualification.
* Working towards status with a recognised professional body (ICE, CIWEM, APM, CIPS, RICS).
* Formal training in contract management (e.g. NEC, Contract Management Capability Programme).
