In a nutshell Do you have a passion for Cloud cost efficiency & sustainability, and a desire to mature our FinOps culture? As a Senior Cloud Analyst - FinOps Specialist, within the Cloud team, you'll use your FinOps expertise along with our tooling to help drive insight and recommendations on how to improve cost efficiency, sustainability & modernisation within our multi cloud estate. You'll work collaboratively with Finance, Product & Engineering teams. With your strong analytical skills, you'll translate financial insights into actionable recommendations, promoting cost-aware architecture design, and leveraging code to automate resource optimisation. Monitor cloud consumption at the account level to detect, investigate, escalate anomalies and unplanned spikes. Look for new ways to develop existing reporting and processes through automation and optimisation, along with research in to emerging technologies and 'best practice'. You will drive your own development, while you'll have ample support and training where required, with the constantly evolving landscape in cloud, it'll be important to identify your development needs and the best way to grow them. What you need to do You will be an expert in the field of Cloud FinOps and part of a FinOps team, supported by another Cloud analyst, FinOps Engineers & Product, in exploiting Sainsbury's data assets to establish the realisation of Sainsbury's strategy. Your primary focus will be on delivering analytical value for our Tech divisions, and will work across the core brands of Sainsbury's, Argos, Tu and Habitat. You will have a great analytical foundation, and we want you to think about how you apply that in the context of Sainsbury's - getting to know how we operate is key so you can propose and recommend the approach that should be taken to fulfil data analysis. You will develop & maintain relationships with your stakeholders, championing a collaborative approach to requirements gathering and the formation of compelling analysis. While staying confident in questioning a proposed strategy or approach to analysis. What you need to know and show As a member of the Cloud team, you are a highly skilled and inquisitive Cloud FinOps Analyst. An agile and innovative thinker, you'll be able to think creatively with a logical and methodical approach to problem solving and producing ideas. You will be excited by cloud and retail; you'll be curious about data and the adoption of new technologies and tools. You will be an excellent communicator, credible and articulate, with good presentation and relationship building skills. Able to build trust with stakeholders and explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences. You will have previous experience and strong understanding in FinOps and cloud computing services with core skills and experience with AWS, Azure, Cloudability as well as services such as cloud infrastructure, software and platform as a service (IaaS, SaaS & PaaS) We are looking for proven experience and certification in FinOps within a large retail enterprise. Along with demonstrated success in driving FinOps maturity improvement initiatives. You will have extensive knowledge of financial management principles and experience in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. This includes experience in financial modelling and cost analysis. With your proficiency in data analysis tools & techniques, along with strong communication and collaboration skills, you'll be able to work closely with internal teams, including Finance & Technology to drive and develop the FinOps Culture and help modernise our Cloud estate.
