School First Aid Officer (fixed term maternity cover)

Hours: 32½ per week, Monday to Friday 8:15 am to 3:45 pm (term time only)
Appointment: Fixed‑term maternity cover – part‑time contract, contract term permanent.
All appointed staff will be DBS checked without exception.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as the first point of call for all first aid incidents within the school.
* Provide immediate and competent first aid treatment to injured or ill students, staff and visitors.
* Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date first aid records and incident reports.
* Support and train staff on basic first aid procedures where appropriate.
* Ensure the first aid kit is fully stocked and compliant with statutory requirements.
* Co‑operate with school leadership to promote health, safety and well‑being for all.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
* Current, recognised first aid qualification (e.g., Level 2 First Aid for School Children or equivalent).
* Experience in delivering first aid in an educational setting preferred.
* Ability to work calmly under pressure and support a team environment.
* Strong communication skills with students, staff and parents.
* Excellent attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality.
* Good numeracy and literacy skills; proficient with Microsoft Office.
* Experience with school information systems, specifically Arbor, is an advantage (training provided).
* Positive, proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
