ZEST are recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join an ARP (Additional Resource Provision) specialising in autism in Barnet. This is a full academic year post starting ASAP. The successful candidate will work as an SEN Teaching Assistant with children who have an autism diagnosis and support their learning, development, and inclusion in a mainstream primary school setting. About the Role: * SEN Teaching Assistant in a mainstream school in Barnet within their ARP, starting ASAP for the full academic year * Support learners with autism in small group and individual settings, helping with academic work, communication, social interaction, emotional regulation, and independence * Work one-to-one as well as with small groups to reinforce learning and to implement personalised strategies, programmes and interventions * Aid sensory, behavioural, and communication needs, employing visual aids and structured routines as appropriate * Monitor pupils’ progress, feedback observations and adjustments to the SEN Teacher / ARP Lead / Inclusion Lead * Support inclusion in the school community — helping pupils access whole-class teaching, break times, lunch times and extra‑curricular activities when possible About the School: * Mainstream Primary School in Barnet * The school offers an Additional Resource Provision (ARP) for pupils with autism, providing specialist support within a mainstream primary environment * Committed to inclusive education, ensuring pupils with special educational needs have access to the full curriculum and school community * Strong collaborative practices among staff, with regular professional development and SEN‑focused training * A school culture that values diversity, understands individual differences, and promotes social, emotional and academic growth If you are interested in this position or want to find out more, ‘apply for job’ at the top of the page to submit your details.
